A presentation was given by representatives of the Economy and Community Department on the Gwynedd Buy Local Scheme.

Members drew attention to parking fees and the fact that they did not encourage people to shop in village/town centres. 

Action point:

Approve support for the scheme and ask members to make contacts in their individual wards to develop the scheme and to register their interest by contacting hannahjoyce@gwynedd.gov.uk

The Community Regeneration Manager presented the Local Regeneration Officer’s work programme.

The thematic / geographic balance of the projects was supported.

Action Points:

• To receive a further update in 6 months;
• To make enquiries about the Economy and Community Department’s intentions regarding the introduction of the work programme for the Llŷn and Eifionydd Employment Plan.

An update was provided on the work of the Planning Service’s Enforcement Unit in relation to monitoring the 12-month holiday period of caravan sites.

The Interim Senior Manager, Planning and Environment and Public Protection, and the Enforcement Manager responded to questions asked by Councillor Aled Evans.

Action point:

Submit information to members of the Communities Scrutiny Committee following work to monitor caravan sites which will start in 2016.
