DECLARATION OF PERSONAL INTEREST To receive
any declaration of personal interest Minutes: Councillor Alwyn Gruffydd as he had a close
business connection and a personal connection with the family of one of the
candidates. The Member was of the opinion that it was a
prejudicial interest, and he withdrew from the meeting during the discussion on
the application. |

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC The Chairman shall propose that the
press and public be excluded from the meeting during the discussion on
the following item due to the likely disclosure of exempt
information as defined in paragraph 12, Part 4, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. This
paragraph should apply because the report contains information regarding
individuals and the individuals in question are entitled to privacy and there is
no overriding public interest that requires the disclosure of personal
information relating to those individuals, nor their identities. Consequently the public interest
in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the

INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR THE POST OF HEAD OF HOUSING AND PROPERTY To receive
reports from the Assessment Centre and interview applicants for the post. Decision: Appoint
Carys Fon Williams to the
post of Head of Hosing and Property Minutes: The order of the
day was confirmed with the Members. Mr Geraint Owen
(Head of the Corporate Support Department) was invited to present brief
observations on the performances of the four applicants at an external Assessment Centre held on 09/07/21 by the Edgecombe company.
The results of the psychometric tests and the applicants' competencies
were noted. Mr Dafydd Gibbard
(Chief Executive), was invited to present a brief feedback on the performances
of the four candidates at a professional interview held with the support of Morwena Edwards (Corporate Director) and Councillor Craig
ab Iago (Cabinet Member - Housing and Property). Four applicants
were interviewed for the post. The applicants
were invited to give a presentation of up to 10 minutes on the subject 'What
are the opportunities and the threats facing the Housing and Property
Department over the coming years and how do you propose to respond to these?' They responded to five formal questions asked
by the Chair together with follow-up questions by the Members. Councillor Craig
ab Iago (Cabinet Member for Housing and Property) was invited to offer
observations on the responses of the applicants. It
was proposed and seconded that the post be offered to Carys Fôn
Williams RESOLVED
to appoint Carys Fôn Williams to the post of Head of Housing
