    Description

    What is the LGA?

We are a politically-led, cross-party organisation that works on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice with national government. We aim to influence and set the political agenda on the issues that matter to councils so they are able to deliver local solutions to national problems.

    Who are our members?

We are a membership organisation. All English councils are members of the LGA* (414 authorities in total). These members include 350 English councils, the 22 Welsh councils via the Welsh LGA, 31 fire authorities, 10 national parks and one town council. *With the exception of London Borough of Bromley, Sheffield City Council and London Borough of Wandsworth.
