    Description

Community Health Councils (CHCs) are statutory bodies independent of local health services, which have a duty to represent the interests of the public in the health service. They are made up of members who give their time without pay. They monitor the functions of the health service in their districts with the aim of ensuring that steps are taken to identify the health needs of the community they serve.
